Arts Advocacy

04/27/04
If we, citizens, do not support our artists, then we sacrifice our imagination on the altar of crude reality and we end up believing in nothing and having worthless dreams.
From the introduction to the book Life of Pi, by Yann Martel, 2001

There's a million ways to get things done,
There's a million ways to make things work out.
From the song
What a Day That Was, by David Byrne, 1990

How You Can Help

Volunteer here at Dwyer.  We need parents to sell tickets, pick up and drop off rental items, supervise rehearsals, provide snacks and drinks for rehearsal, and help with carpool.  Any and all help is appreciated, and if there's a special talent or skill you'd like to share, just say the word.  email me, or call 714-536-7507, ext. 4108.

Particular areas of need:

We always, ALWAYS appreciate photographers.

Rehearsal/performance supervision,  2 weeks prior to performances.  Parents are needed to supervise performers who are waiting to go onstage.  Stay tuned for specifics.

Pick up rental items:  Two trucks and drivers needed to pick up staging and props locally.

Experienced seamstresses (seamsters??):  Costume construction for "Fiddler on the Roof"  Please call Ms. Canzone for details.

Set construction:  We have detailed designs and blueprints, and need people who can perform carpentry and paint sets.  Call Ms. Canzone if you can help.

Financial donations are needed and any amount will be gratefully accepted.  Please be assured that 100% of your donation will go to benefit performing arts.  Simply send funds with your child to class, or drop it off at the office.  Mark "drama" on your check.
